Beginning in Spring 2008, JPMorgan Chase was among several lenders to cancel or reduce home-equity lines of credit in various parts of the country. Now, nine borrowers from California, Illinois and Texas are challenging the bank on issues surrounding the cancellation of their HELOCs. The case was consolidated in the U.S. District Court and may become a class-action suit.
